Frequently asked questions

How does AI voice cloning work?

Sign up free, upload a sample of your voice (an audio file, or a video of you talking; we use its sound) and name it. It is saved to your account and shows under “Your voices” in text to speech, the voice changer and the Voices step of a video dub, where you can give it to any speaker.

How long does my sample need to be?

At least 10 seconds of clear speech, up to 5 minutes; a few minutes gives a closer match.

Can I clone someone else’s voice?

Only with their permission. Cloning a voice without consent breaks our content policy, and those voices are removed.

Which languages can my cloned voice speak?

All 65+ languages our voice speaks, with your tone and pace. The rest of the 70+ get subtitles.

Who can use my cloned voice?

Only your account. Cloned voices are not shared with other users or listed among the stock voices, and you can delete one at any time.

Does background noise matter?

Yes. One speaker, a close microphone and no music give the closest clone.

How much does voice cloning cost?

Cloning is free. An account can keep up to 10 voices; delete one to make room. You pay credits only when a voice speaks: in text to speech, the voice changer or a dub, where a cloned voice costs nothing more.

Do I need permission to clone a voice?

Yes. Translate videos you own or have the rights to, and only clone the voices of people who agreed to it. Videos that impersonate someone or use a voice without consent break our content policy and are removed.
