Frequently asked questions

Is the subtitle translator free?

The first 60 seconds of a video are free every day, no account needed (3 a day signed in). After that, subtitles use 0.2 credits a minute, so the 3 credits you get for verifying your email cover about 15 minutes.

Can I upload an SRT or VTT file?

Yes. Drop the .srt or .vtt file where the video would go: each line is translated with its timing kept, and you check the lines before you download the new SRT and VTT. With no subtitle file, upload the video or its audio and we write down what is said first.

Can I edit the translated lines?

Yes. Every line shows next to the original, with its time. Fix any word, then download.

Is the timing kept?

Every line keeps the start and end time of the speech it came from, so it lines up with your video.

Can I download both languages?

Yes, in one file or two. The bilingual SRT or VTT shows the translation with the original line under it, on the same timing; or take the translation and the original-language transcript as separate files.

How many languages can I translate into at once?

1 on the free preview, up to 3 with a pack or the Creator plan, 5 on Pro and 10 on Studio.

Can I turn subtitles into a dubbed voice?

Yes. Translate the same video with Dubbing picked in the tool: you get the voice in your language and the subtitles with it.
